Tutorial for Don't Forget to Write

Hi Everyone,

Here is a very quick tutorial for lining up the stamps in the Don't Forget to Write kit. I hope it helps some people who are having trouble with lining things up. I know it can be very frustrating to be unable to get one perfect flower cluster. This method may make things much easier, not only for this particular set, but for other sets as well.

Place a negative die space in your MISTI. It's important to use a straight piece of paper so you can line up your corners again if the paper moves.

Place a "professional die cut" in the die space. Then take your first stamp and line it up with the die cut as shown.

Close the door and pick up the stamp, then place your blank die cut into the space. Now stamp the leaves using any color green.

Once again, place the professional die cut into the die space. Place the flowers onto the die cut in the proper place, ensuring that you line them up perfectly.

Now close the door, pick up the stamp, and replace the professional die cut and then stamp with your favorite flower color.

Now place the professional die cut into the space and line up the middle of the flowers. Once again, close the door, replace the professional die cut with your own die cut, and stamp.

Your own die cut should look like this:

Continue replacing your own die cut with the professional one, and continue lining your stamps up, then switch to your own and stamp.

When you are finished, you should have a perfectly stamped bouquet. I usually stamp the two little buds at the end with just an acrylic block since they are not too hard to line up.

Please let me know in the comments or on the PTI Forum if you tried this method and your experience with it. It seems time consuming, but ultimately, you can do many die cuts at a time with great success.

Another MFT Superstar Entry

Hi Everyone,

So this card is really spectacular in person. Of course, the photo doesn't do it justice. Anyway, I'm submitting this card to the MFT Superstar contest. Whether it wins or not, I have enjoyed making it.

MFT Superstar Contest

Hi Everyone,

I have two cards ready for the MFT Stamps Superstar Contest. The first one is a girl raking leaves, which is a happy scene.

Enjoy!

Girl Jumping in Leaves

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card that I cased from Stephanie at MFT Stamps. Love the idea of a girl jumping in the leaves--it just screams "fall".

Pumpkin Girl

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card using the Pure Innocence Pumpkin stamp and some pumpkins in a wagon from Lawn Fawn. Fun and relatively simple card to make, especially if you like to color. Everything was colored with copics. The background was created using distress inks.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop May 2015

Hi Everyone,

I spent the first week I got this kit making cards just with this kit. It's that addicting. So here it is in Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette. There are so many ways you can use this kit--I already packaged some cards, put a bow around it, and mailed it to a friend who just had a new baby.

PTI Don't Forget to Write

Hi Everyone,

Here are serveral cards I made with the new kit from PTI "Don't Forget to Write." It took a while to figure out how to stamp these so that they are perfect, but I finally did it.

Purple Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

This is a card made with the MFT Fly-By Friends stamp set. The flowers have a stem and leaf attached, but I cut it off and created a bouquet. The yellow flowers and leaves are from the Build-able Bouquet stamp set. This is an easy card to make, but turns out beautiful!

Aqua Birthday Girl

Hi Everyone,

This birthday girl from Simon Says Stamp is so much fun to color and create with. She's Melody from and Easter stamp set, but there's no reason she can't be used for lots of different events, in this case, a birthday card.

Paper Dolls

Hi Everyone,

Last month PTI introduced a new series of paper dolls which you store in 4" x 5" metal containers. I bought the stamp set, but then I realized that the dolls are too small for my grandchildren, who are 2 and 4. So I decided to use the same concept using larger dolls.

So I dug through my stamps and came up with some that could make a scene. I stamped and colored the dolls, and then placed them on some adhesive magnetic material. If I had a die, then it was very easy to cut out the magnetic material. If not, then I tried to use my Scan N Cut, but not too happy with the way it turned out. I could be more persistent, but also, just doing a rough cut out is also acceptable.

I divided the dolls between two containers, with the playground scene for the younger girl, and the picnic girl and the spring rain girls for the older girl. There are more girls that I can create and color differently. Also, I am loving that Skater Girl from Avery Elle and Melody from SSS.

Brushed Blooms

Hi Everyone,

I made this card for the PTI Make it Monday event. I used the Brushed Blooms stamp set. The purpose was to do some ink blending on the background, and then superimpose some additional color using a stencil. It turns out very interesting looking.

Mama Elephant Sunday Stroll and In My Heart Stamp Sets

Hi Everyone,

I made a few cards with the Mama Elephant Sunday Stroll stamp set. A couple of the kids are from the In My Heart stamp set, but the majority are from the Sunday Stroll set. Also, the sentiments are from the Sunday Sentiments stamp set. I'm assuming they were designed to complement each other. I cut the main panel using a stitched die and added a cloud die from MFT and a landscape design from MFT. I used Ranger dye inks to add some color on the panels. I like using the yellow on the main panel to give the ambience of the sun rays.

Girl in Red With Snowball

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card using the You're the Coolest girl from Doodle Garden Girl. This stamp is not easy to find today, maybe it has been retired, but I found it on Etsy. It's really appropriate today, since it has been snowing here for hours. It was only supposed to snow lightly--but so far it's been snowing for about seven hours. Anyway, the name of the stamp set is "You're the Coolest," if you want to see if you can find it.

I tried to paper piece this girl twice. It's not as easy as it looks, and I have a new respect for people who can do a good job of that. Anyway, enjoy this snowy day!

MFT Sketch 1-12-16

Hi Everyone,

Here is my card for the MFT Stamps sketch for this week. I used the lines from the Distressed Patterns stamp set to create the horizontal lines. I used the Mini Modern Blooms stamp set and dies for the flowers. I also used the Die-Namics Double Stitched Oval STAX for the greeting.

Girl on Sled

Hi Everyone,

Here is a Pure Innocence girl on a sled. I used Ranger Inks for the blue background, then used the MFT Stamps snowy background stencil and BoBunny Sugar glitter paste to create the snow. Love the Pure Innocence stamps! I colored her with Copic markers.

Enjoy!
