Purple Chrisanthemum Card

Hi Everyone,

Here is a birthday card I made today for my sister. It's 5 x 6.5, which is really a nice size to make for a special card. You have a little more space to put your design. My camera doesn't always capture the color purple correctly, but rest assured, all the purples match. I have a few random cards to send out this week, and I think this design may be the main one--but I might change up the color on each one.

I actually CASED this design from Dawn McVey from PTI's release last month. I think that it would look great in several of the fall colors. After I make those, I'll post them.

Enjoy!

Patriotic Quilt

Hi Everyone,

Here is a patriotic quilt that I made recently. It would make a great quilt for the Quilts of Valor program. However, it is definitely labor-intensive. It took me more than six weeks to make it, and that is working very diligently on it. The quilt is a kit by Fons and Porter.

Some More Cards

Hi Everyone,

Here are a few more cards--I made all these yesterday and today. I can't take credit for the second through fifth cards, as I CASEd a card from Angela's blog . Her card is just gorgeous, and when I saw it I knew I had to replicate it.

Also, this weekend I decided to figure out how to put a slideshow in the sidebar of my blog. I found this one site that has a slideshow that I was able to work with. I also found a different configuration on this same site. Anway, for some real fun, double click on the slideshow that is at the bottom of the page (not the one in the sidebar) and it will open a new page. Click the button to make it a full page and then click the button to start the slideshow, then watch what happens. Unfortunately, I think this is Flash, so Apple users, i.e, Ipads, can't see the slideshow.

A Few New Cards

Hi Everyone,

It's still snowing here, but I figured if I change my house picture to something more spring-like, maybe it would help bring it on. I actually like snow, but the cold is getting tiresome.

I'm getting ready to mail a box of cards to OWH, so I took some pics of a few of them before I ship them off. Here are just a few of them:

Star Quilt

Hi Everyone,

I finished another quilt this week. The fabric in this one is Sentiments by 3 Sisters. I used a fat quarter for a lot of it, then augmented it with some yardage from a local quilt store. The pattern can be purchased from The Fat Quarter Shop. It's definitely a quilt for quilters with lots of experience and patience.

Papertrey Ink Tag Contest

Hi Everyone,

As soon as I read that the contest for today involved making a tag, I knew immediately that I wanted to use Debbie Olsen's tag that she made using Sweet Spring and the Tag Sale Die #3.

So here is my card using that tag:

PTI Anniversary Contest II

Hi Everyone,

Since I have time, I thought I'd submit a second card to the PTI Anniversary contest. This time I CASEd Dawn McVey's card, which is here:

I happened to remember that Nichole had used these poinsettia flowers from a Christmas set, and using different ink, made them look like flowers. This was my chance to use that idea. I can see lots of opportunities to mix up the color combinations on this layout. Here is my card:

PTI February Contest

Hi Everyone,

Here is my entry into the PTI challenge this week. I used Danielle's card as an inspiration for the challenge.
Here is Danielle's card:

And here is my CASE:

I didn't trust myself to do the hexagon background, so I used some of PTI's Bitty Box Basics paper as a background strip. Much easier and safer.

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card I made for PTI's blog hop this month. It's been a while since I've stamped, months actually. The one thing I like about this color combination is that it photographs nicely. The paper and flower are from PTI. The hello sentiment is from the Sweet Spring stamp set. I needed something generic and small for the sentiment, and that one is just perfect.

Another Quilt

Hi Everyone,

I finished another quilt that only took a couple of weeks this time. Much easier than the last quilt I made. This one looks great in my family room, which is done in yellow and red, but it still looks good hanging over the rocking chair.

The quilt is from a kit at the Fat Quarter Shop and is called Chantilly. I downloaded the pattern from there and then bought the fabric at my local quilt shop. The kit didn't come out until this month, and I was too impatient to wait for it. Hope you like it.

Enjoy!
