Three Poinsettias

Hi Everyone,

Here is my Christmas card that is using non-traditional colors for the PTI November Blog Hop. I used the poinsettias from the PTI Bells and Boughs stamp set and stamped them in light teal. I used a stencil and some Bo Bunny glitter paste in the color "Sugar" for the snowy background. I wish the snow showed up better, as it is really stunning in real life.

I used the die from the PTI Sending You stamp set and used the same ink to sponge around the die cut. I stamped the evergreens from the Bells and Boughs stamp set and placed the die cut poinsettias on the arch. The rhinestones are from my stash of rhinestones, which I am trying to use up before I am tempted to buy any sequins.

Girl With Snowball

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card I made using the snow background stamp from MFT stamps. I also used some blue and turquoise ink to create the background.

Fall Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

Here is a birthday card I made using the MFT Stamps Modern Blooms stamp set, along with their stitched circles stax. The second card shows the inside of the card. I think I got the Irish Blessing stamp at a stamp show. There's nothing on it to indicate where it's from. It always stamps crooked, but now with the pink tool, I can line it up much easier.

Playground Scene

Hi Everyone,

Over Memorial Day weekend I had my grandchildren here. Two of them, boy 5 and girl 3, made these playground scenes from the Lawn Fawn Let's Play stamp set and dies. The boy, you will notice, used mostly the objects that were already colored with patterned paper. His sister, however, liked to color a lot of the objects. You will notice that each of them has a little girl in the tree. I found out that their family went apple picking last fall, and their father was reaching them up into the trees to pick the apples. So that solved that mystery. However, the mystery of why the little girl has a purple face is still unsolved.

This is a really fun set to do with little kids. They can create a playground scene that looks nice and they can get excited about. I cut a piece of aqua cardstock in half so the scene is 4.5" x 11". I had everything cut ahead of time since I didn't think they would have the patience to wait until I cut everything. Besides, that took longer than I thought it would.

Have a Happy Day

Hi Everyone,

Here are cards in two different color schemes using the Whipper Snapper Design stamp, Wishing you a Lovely Day. This is a fun stamp set to color, since you can use so many different colors. I really like the sentiment for sending to special people for no particular reason. The striped paper is from Lawn Fawn.

Wedding Card

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card that I CASED from the MFT site. Everything on this card, sans the ink and rhinestones, is from the MFT site: the stamps, dies, cardstock, sentiments, and background stamp are all from the site. Also, I used the MFT Blueprint dies to cut out the card front, the stitched strips, and the inside layer. All together I counted 11 layers.

If you are planning on joining me on June 6 at Panera, you can scroll down and see other variations of this card using different color combinations.

So here is the card:

Here are a few more cards I made using these ideas while using other color combinations:

Aqua Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

I didn't mean to be so laconic on my OWH Blog Hop post, but every time I started to upload my card, my 20-month old dgd decided to hit the blue button on the computer. After a few tries, I just decided to get the card loaded up and not try to do anything more than that--it could give her more time to find the blue button again.

On to this card. I am really smitten with these Modern Blooms flowers and Die-Namics from MFT Stamps. I figured out how to make sure they are lined up perfectly by using a template in the MISTI. It makes a difference in ensuring that the flowers are in the middle of the die cut and not skewed to one side.

Once again, I can't take credit for this design. I CASed this from Jodi's Web site. You can check out her blog here. I am so impressed with her blog! She has the greatest ideas.

Lawn Fawn and Mama Elephant Stamps

Hi Everyone,

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. Just recently I had decided to make cards that OWH heroes could send to their children, as opposed to their SOs, so I got some more puerile stamps. Actually, once I started down this path, I got lots of inspiration from Kelly Marie from Lawn Fawn and Nichol Magouirk. Both of them have lots of videos on YouTube that are really fun to watch. They both give great ideas for making interesting cards.

Most of the stamps and dies are from Lawn Fawn, but the little people are from Mama Elephant. I tried to leave the impression from the little girl that she had just gone down the slide and was making an "I did it" sign with her hands. Fun!

PTI Ballerina Girl

Hi Everyone,

Here is my card made using the PTI Ballerina stamp and die. I used the design from SU! Summer Silhouettes to create a floor for the ballerina to be dancing on. This is the perfect stamp for cards for young girls.

You Make Every Day Happy

Hi Everyone,

Love the sentiment on this card. I also love the combination of deep reds and purples. As usual, I used the MFT Die-Namics Blueprints and Modern Blooms stamps and dies. The cards I made were inspired by Jodi, who is a designer at MFT Stamps. You can check out her blog here. I am so impressed by her blog!

The sentiment is from Be Blessed stamp set by Verve.

Just Because

Hi Everyone,

Here is another card I made. This time I used the 2008 PTI Bitty Boxes paper as the background strips. The rest of the card was done using MFT Blueprints and their Modern Blooms stamps and dies. The Just Because is a PTI sentiment.

Purple Thank You

Hi Everyone,

I just recently discovered MFT stamps and their line of Blueprints dies that make creating perfect cards really easy. In these cards I used Blueprints 13 for the stitched background and Blueprints 2 for the stitched strips. The stitched circle is created using the stitched circle dies. The arch is from Blueprints 3. The flowers are from their Modern Blooms stamps and dies. I can't take credit for the designs. I CASED one of their team's cards which you can find on
Jodi's Web site.

Paper Smooches Flowers

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card I made using the Paper Smooches floral bouquet. I used the Die-Namics Blueprints to cut out the stitched cardstock, and PTI Sending You die to cut out the arched white cardstock. Colored the flowers with Copic markers. I used the Blueprints to cut out the dotted paper strips behind the panels. The stitched rectangle behind the arch is from PTI Just Smile. This is my first time using the Die-Namics Blueprints. They really make a nice element on the card since they are perfectly straight, and I love the stitching detail.

PTI Bouquet of Flowers

Hi Everyone,

This card is in response to the challenge to make a card creating a floral bouquet from different stamp sets. The roses are from Rosie Posie, the tulip is from the Floral Fusion #11 set, and the other flowers and the sentiment are from the Daydreamer set.

Blue Sky

Hi Everyone,

This card is in response to the PTI challenge for a blue ombre card. I used SU Night of Navy, PTI Blueberry Sky and Spring Rain for the background. Then I used Reason to Smile for the flowers and some old cloud dies that I had from PTI. I am actually pleased with the result.

Corner Design

Hi Everyone,

This card is for the MIM at PTI for this week. It featured a card with a design in the corner, rather than centering the design. Since I'm in a rather laconic mood, I'll keep this short.

Missed Deadline

Hi Everyone,

Here is a card I had made for Kara's celebration for 200 weeks on Pinterest. It was immediately after taking this picture that my camera died, and I didn't realize that it had taken this picture okay. So I'll post it anyway..........

Anyway, I am borrowing a camera for a short while, but in the meantime, I'm looking online for cameras. I found
this one
which looks absolutely amazing. Does anyone have one like this? It's been out for a year, and luckily the price has dropped a bit. I have an old fashioned phone since I have an iPad, I don't really feel like I need an iPhone or anything similar, but this camera does everything an iPhone does except make calls. Interesting.

It would be great to send photos immediately from the camera to the blog, but I am not sure how you would put your signature block onto the picture. Otherwise, to eliminate the step of entering it into Gimp would be a real plus.

Enjoy!

PTI Make It Monday January 2015

Hi Everyone,

Here is my card for the Make it Monday challenge at PTI. I chose Lauren Bassen's technique of emboss resist (video #179). There were a few others I would have liked to try, especially Ashley's Stamping a Plaid background and Dawn's Glittered Frames. Maybe if they have another contest, those are the ones I'll do. In the meantime, this was kind of a fun challenge. It took a few tries, and even then, not exactly perfection, but I still learned something. I made a template using the Center Stage cover plate. The other elements are from the Beautiful Brushstrokes stamps and dies sets.
